Early Life and Career

Colin Kelly Jost (born June 29, 1982) is an American comedian, writer, and actor. He has been a staff writer for the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live (SNL) since 2005 and has co-anchored the show's news parody segment, Weekend Update, since 2014.

SNL Writer and Performer

Jost joined SNL as a writer in 2005 and quickly rose through the ranks. He became a featured player in 2009 and was promoted to full cast member the following year. Jost has written sketches for many of SNL's most popular characters, including Michael Che's "Weekend Update" commentaries and David S. Pumpkins.

Weekend Update Co-Anchor

On January 23, 2014, it was announced that Jost would replace Seth Meyers as the co-anchor of Weekend Update. Jost has co-anchored the segment alongside Michael Che since then, bringing his unique wit and satirical perspective to news events and pop culture.
