Drew Bledsoe: Patriots Legend and NFL Star
Early Life and Career
Drew McQueen Bledsoe, born February 14, 1972, is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. Hailing from Walla Walla, Washington, Bledsoe was a highly touted prospect coming out of high school. He attended Washington State University and set numerous passing records during his college career.
NFL Career
Bledsoe was selected first overall by the New England Patriots in the 1993 NFL Draft. He quickly became one of the league's top passers, leading the Patriots to their first Super Bowl appearance in 1996. Bledsoe spent eight seasons in New England, amassing 3839 completions for 44611 passing yards. He also threw 251 touchdowns and 129 interceptions during his time with the Patriots.
Later Years and Retirement
After leaving the Patriots, Bledsoe played for the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys. He continued to be a productive quarterback, but never reached the same heights as he did in New England. Bledsoe retired from the NFL in 2006 and has since pursued a career in broadcasting. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Patriots history and is a member of the team's Hall of Fame.
