Born James Donald Bowman on August 2, 1984, in Middletown, Ohio, Vance is known as James David Vance. A politician and businessman, Vance rose to prominence as the author of the best-selling memoir "Hillbilly Elegy" (2016).
Political Career
After apologizing for denouncing Donald Trump, Vance adopted many of the former president's hard-line stances, including on immigration. This shift in views helped Vance secure Trump's endorsement and ultimately win the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat in Ohio.
